Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson provided updates on several key players following their Monday Night Football loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Lawrence Avoids Serious Injury
The most significant news came regarding quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who sustained a right ankle injury in the fourth quarter. Pederson diagnosed it as a high ankle sprain, but declared Lawrence could potentially play this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Everything’s stable, everything looks good,” Pederson said. “We’ll see where he is in a couple of days.
Kirk Likely Out with Core Muscle Injury
Wide receiver Christian Kirk received the worst news of the day. He suffered a non-contact core muscle injury that Pederson described as “out for some time.” He added that surgery is “believed to be necessary,” though a second opinion is being sought.
Other Updates
Safety Andre Cisco sustained a shoulder injury early in the game but returned after treatment. “He’ll be fine this week,” Pederson confirmed.
Cornerback Tyson Campbell, battling a hamstring issue, suffered a right quadriceps strain in overtime. His status is “day to day.”
The Jaguars will continue to monitor the players’ progress throughout the week and provide further updates before Sunday’s matchup.
