An awareness rally is set to take place on December 1 to commemorate World AIDS Day. The rally, starting from Kranti Chowk at 8 am, will be inaugurated by District Collector Astik Kumar Pandey after paying respects to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The route will traverse through Paithan Gate, Zilla Parishad, and conclude at Marathwada Sanskrutik Mandal at Khadkeshwar.
Throughout the rally, pamphlets will be distributed to raise awareness about AIDS eradication, accompanied by street plays. College students, along with members from the Maharashtra State AIDS Control Institute, Mumbai, and other organizations, will actively participate in the event.
Additionally, a series of events, including a poster competition, rangoli competition, blood donation camp, poem recitation, and essay writing, are scheduled throughout the week.
World AIDS Day will also be observed at the tehsil level, featuring various programs across different locations. On December 1, Sub-District Hospital in Vaijapur and Prerna Social Institute will organize a rally, followed by a poster exhibition at the rally’s conclusion. Various college-based programs are also planned, as stated by District Civil Surgeon Dr. Dayanand Motipawale.
