In a momentous achievement, fast bowler Mohammed Shami has become India’s highest wicket-taker in World Cup history, surpassing the records set by legendary bowlers Javagal Srinath and Zaheer Khan.
Following his outstanding performance, where he claimed 5 wickets for 18 runs in a resounding 302-run victory over Sri Lanka in Mumbai, Shami was rightfully awarded the Player-of-the-Match title. This victory also secured India’s spot as the first team to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals.
