Sharks Look for Depth to Step Up as Eklund & Vlasic Miss Time

by admin

The San Jose Sharks will be without two key players when they take on the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night. Rookie phenom William Eklund and veteran defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic are both out with injuries.

Eklund, who has been one of the Sharks’ bright spots this season, is out with a lower-body injury. He is expected to miss at least two weeks. Vlasic, who has been a mainstay on the Sharks’ blue line for over a decade, is out with an upper-body injury. It is unclear how long he will be sidelined.

Sharks Still Dangerous Despite Injuries:

Despite the absences of Eklund and Vlasic, the Sharks are still a dangerous team. They have a deep roster and are capable of beating any team in the league on any given night.

“We have a lot of depth on this team,” said Sharks coach David Quinn. “We have guys who can step up and play big roles in their absence.”

One of the players who will need to step up is forward Timo Meier. Meier has been one of the Sharks’ most productive players this season, and he will need to be even better with Eklund out of the lineup.

“I’m just going to try to play my game and help the team win,” said Meier. “It’s going to be a tough challenge without William, but I’m confident that we can still be successful.”

Golden Knights Looking to Take Advantage:

The Golden Knights are looking to take advantage of the Sharks’ injuries. They are a talented team that is coming off a win over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night.

“We know the Sharks are a good team,” said Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy. “But they’re going to be missing two key players. We need to take advantage of that and try to get two points.”

The Golden Knights are led by forward Mark Stone. Stone is one of the best players in the league, and he will be a handful for the Sharks’ defense.

Sharks Will Need to Play Their Best Game:

The Sharks will need to play their best game if they want to beat the Golden Knights. They will need to be disciplined, stay out of the penalty box, and take advantage of their power play opportunities.

“We need to be smart and disciplined,” said Sharks captain Logan Couture. “We can’t afford to take any penalties. And we need to capitalize on our power play chances.”

The Sharks and Golden Knights are two of the best teams in the Pacific Division. This game is a big one for both teams, and it should be a close and exciting battle.

Sharks: William Eklund (lower body), Marc-Edouard Vlasic (upper body)

Golden Knights: None

I predict that the Golden Knights will win the game 3-2.
