The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have unveiled their 2023 holiday card in the form of a virtual greeting sent via email through their Archewell organization. The card expresses warm holiday wishes and gratitude for the support received in the year. It includes a link to the couple’s annual Archewell Foundation impact report, featuring a video showcasing their charitable work over the past year.
The chosen photo captures a moment from the closing ceremony of the 2023 Invictus Games held in Düsseldorf, Germany, in September. Harry and Meghan appeared elegant, with Harry donning a black suit and Meghan wearing a green strapless dress adorned with laser-cut flower details. The image captures the couple applauding the U.S. team’s entrance to Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA.”
The holiday card release coincided with Harry’s victory in a phone hacking lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers. In response, Harry emphasized the importance of a free and honest press.
The Sussexes, parents to Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, are savoring the holiday season. Meghan shared during a recent appearance in Los Angeles that they are cherishing the moments with their little ones.
This holiday card tradition is not new for the couple. Last year’s card featured a black-and-white photo from the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award Gala in New York City. The 2022 card extended wishes for health, peace, and a happy new year from “Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
In previous years, the couple used holiday cards to showcase significant family moments, including introducing daughter Lili in 2021 and sharing a Christmas card as a family of three with Archie in 2019. Each card has conveyed personal messages and supported various charitable causes, aligning with the Sussexes’ commitment to philanthropy.
